    • Roles & Responsibilities
    • Flow focus
    • OKRs & New terminology
  • Agile HW development

Updates in SAFe 6.0

The SAFe core values haven been updated and incooperated the lean principles “Respect for People” and “Relentless Improvement”. Principle #6 was changed to “Make value flow without intrerruptions” which is aligned with the five principles of Lean Thinking.

The responsibilities of each roles has been clarified and responsibility wheels with five responsibilities created to give an quick overview. Besides the roles also more information about the collaboration between the roles and the collaborative partnership is given.

SAFe now puts a lot of focus on flow and has defined eight flow accelerators. Four articles are available describing the application of the eight flow accelerators on the different levels (portfolio, large solution, art, team).

Many articles have been reworked and updated! Check it out!

Agile HW Development

Like in the early 20 century in the sofware development are now more and more orgnisations applying agile principle within hardware development. Some examples are coming from Hummer or SpaceX. One of the main factors is looking into how to reduce the costs of integration and testing to be able to test more often and by that learn faster. Modularization, set based design and simulations are some patterns that can be applied to get a better flow in hardware development.
